RF connectors are the type of connectors that are indeed used for the transmission of signals at radio frequencies such as antennas, coaxial cables, and others. There are five most common RF connector types which you should know about. Let us get started:

Type N connector

When you want any durable applications that can easily work with frequencies up to 11Ghz, then the type N connector is the one that you should look for. It is a medium sized connector that is waterproof and even threaded. ML-STD-348 is followed by this connector and can be broadly used in microwave systems that have low frequencies. You can also use it in applications where low cost and ruggedness are needed.

UHF Connector

UHF connector is the abbreviation of ultra-high frequency connector. It is also known as an RF connector. But unlike the type N connector, the ultra-high frequency connector can carry frequency up to 100 MHz. The only difference between N and UHF connectors is that the latter has got a non-constant surge impedance and is definitely not waterproof. And as from the earlier point, it has already been shown that the UHF connector is waterproof. The UHF connector finds its use in the citizens band radio, amateur radio, and even the applications of the UHF connector found in the marine VHF radio.

TNC Connector

This is a threaded and better version of the BNC connector. It works at microwave frequencies and also finds its applications in wired and radios.

BNC Connector

You can better call the BNC connector the miniature version of the quick connect or disconnect RF connector. This is generally used in low frequency applications. In the military sector, the BNC connector has gained a mass and has been widely accepted in commercially used videos or composite videos. It has RF applications that can go up to 2GHZ.

SMA Connector

SMA connectors are basically SubMiniature version A. these are the semi-precision coaxial RF connectors that can operate up to 18GHz. It finds its applications in RF power amplifiers, microwave systems, RF isolators, mobile telephone antennas, radio astronomy at 5GHz+ and even Wi-Fi antenna systems.

SMA connector female is the reverse polarity SMA connector that is also known as the SMA jack connector.

Concluding Thoughts!

If you wish to buy a high-quality affordable SMA connector female or any other RF connector type, then the best option that you can have is to come and purchase at Gwave. This is because we have the best quality products. So, why be late?
